First, did you know that the bible calls you people "scoffers", check out 2PETER 3:3. My question is this, why are you all bashing the bible, Jesus, God and christianity. Is because of what we believe? Well let me just explain, we believe in something (the bible) that has never been proven wrong, yip, thats a fact. You people believe in something (evolution) that never been proven right, also a fact. Mmm, thats just brilliant, I wonder to myself why I still argue with you, but as the good book says 2PETER 3:3 "Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers (atheists), walking after their own lusts,..." It explains everything. Oh yes, my question. When are you people going to learn not to argue with the bible?????????

*chuckle* Kiddo, this isn't even worth arguing with you.

Go ahead. Call names. Scoffers, evildoers, fools, etc etc. Sticks and stone, love, sticks and stones.

Your "question" is so fatuous it's not really worth answering but I will earn my 2 points

-Yes, the bible refers to scoffers...so what? The bible also refers to talking snakes and donkeys and tells us to stone to death a disodient child. It just shows that even in the times it was written people with intelligence and common sensed existed and thought it was a load of crap.

-I don't generally bash believers just for the sake of bashing, I prefer to challenge your delusional beliefs in the hope that one day the scales will fall from your eyes, and you will see the bible for what it is...a badly written, logically inconsistent, internally contradictory collection of mythology.

-The bible has never been proven RIGHT. Please supply the references. I'm not saying there aren't factual things in the bible; there is a Red Sea, there was a King Herod. Those sorts of facts are either obvious or available from sources outside the bible. If you are accepting things like the parting of the Red Sea by magic then you are in the land of faith, not fact.

-Evolution has not been proven wrong, science has been TRYING to disprove it for 150 years. That is HOW science works. Theories in science must be testable, then other scientists try and come up with ways to disprove the supposition. The more it is studied, the more evidence accumulates....independently, from a broad spectrum of disciplines.

-I don't argue with the bible, I argue with the naive credulous people who believe the bible.

the bible is said to be from the word of god atheist believe in no god or higher power so there for do not believe in the bible there is your answer....it seems to be very clear the confrontation comes when a question is asked and a person references the bible well atheist cannot accept that as a logical answer for it is of a resource that has no significance. Not all atheist trash the bible some are very respectful of others beliefs....i am agnostic and choose to respect every for what they believe because they are human...

The bible says the earth is flat, that insects have four legs, that whales are fish and bats are birds, it says that the stars are just specks of light on the arch of the heavens that a giant dragon standing on the earth will knock down to earth with its tail, that the moon gives off its own light, that the earth is the unmovng center of the universe, and that the sun revolves around the earth. When are you going to read ALL THE BIBLE and realize it's mostly a crock of sh*t?

Actually, the Bible's been proven wrong in a number of points. For example, and this is my favorite simply because it's so quaint -- the creator of all things, who should know the nature of all its creatures, declares the bat unclean because it's a certain type of bird.

And the New Testament is chalk full of errors -- Jesus broke so many of the prophecies according to the four Gospels that it is impossible for him to be the messiah.

The Bible contains errors. Those errors do not detract from the parts where it's right (for example, much of the old testament can be used as a starting point for archeological research). But pretty much every miracle or act of God is wrong or somehow managed to leave no evidence of its happening.

So tell me why you think I give a rats@$$ what it says about me?

The Bible clearly contradicts itself in several places. It's funny, that you have taken it upon yourself to edit the "perfect" Bible. The word atheist does not appear in that passage. I won't argue with the Bible, but I will place my full scorn on any such as you who edit the Bible for your own twisted purposes. A lot has been explained.

Why should I not argue with the bible? I mean, you take it as a sacred word, but I don't. Anyway, I don't argue with the bible. I just strongly despise Christianity. But I do respect Christians. I know how to make the difference.

You state that the Bible has never been proven wrong.
The Bible has never been proven right, either.

You state that evolution has never been proven right.
Evolution has never been proven wrong, either.

Both sides have just as much basis for our beliefs, then don't we? You've proven nothing here except that we should just agree to disagree because neither side holds the proof.

And to answer the only point that hasn't been answered by previous posters, the reason I oppose religion is this. It takes away the ability of people to think rationally, and when you can't think rationally you can perform the most horrendous acts.

Religion has been responsible for centuries of pain, destruction and homicide. It has split families, destroyed individuals and led to the deaths of millions of people.

I will have no respect for religion until the day that atheists fly aeroplanes into buildings to kill as many innocents as they can. When that day comes I might reconsider.
