If you are in America and your Mom and Cousin are coming to visit, but need to get their visa's first. And they don't approve your cousin's visa because they think she'll stay behind illegally, what would you do. She's an honest, friendly person with a lot in South Africa. She will never stay here, cause everything is there that she wants. The guy just asked her what work she does, for who she works (it's a family business), whether her parents are seperated or not and then dissaproved the application. Isn't that just insane? What does it have to do with her coming to visit me for two weeks? Thanks in advance. The main question is what would you do?

There is nothing you can do, except encourage her to reapply with better reasons to return home. It also would help she could tell the officer that you entered the US legally and have maintained legal status without - for example - getting a tourist visa but then immediately getting married on arrival.

Keep in mind, too, that your cousin told you what she remembers of the interview, not all that was said. I have never heard a visa interview repeated accurately, in 22 years of issuing and denying US visas.

Just have her keep applying-maybe email the embassy here in America and ask advice.
