Use a tone on tone hair color which will be the same as your natural color, use it as a coloring like you did when you dyed it, once it's done, your natural hair color will return and it will also look and feel healthier.

It depends on what colour going back to. Assuming hair is naturally dark and has been bleached: The bleaching process actually takes out the red pigmentation in the hair so bleached hair must first have a "red pigment" dye put back in the hair before it can be dyed back to its darker shade. Failure to include the "red pigment" process before using the hair dye will often result in a lovely shade of green...Twas great in the punk era days....Not so fashionable nowadays!
