Hi,

I have my mail that comes into my yahoo inbox move to microsoft outlook (2002 version)

I have not had a problem with this arrangement for over a year now, but over the last 2 weeks I have started to receive these error messages from my outlook, 'Enter Network Password'.

I then have to re-enter my yahoo password and username in order for me to receive and send messages from my outlook.

The frequency of these error messages varies from every 5 minutes, sometimes around about every 10 minutes, sometimes every 20 minutes and sometimes every 3 minutes. They are no
set patterns.

Once I re-key my Yahoo password and username then everything works perfectly until I receive the next error message.

I have tried the information supplied by microsoft, where you delete the Security Key and this still has not solve the problem.

As such, I would be grateful if you could help me to get rid of this
annoying problem.

Thanks

Thanks guys,

I tried disabling anti virus software and this did not work. I had already clicked save password tick box.

However when I inputted my account details using outlook express, I did not have the problem anymore, as such I guess it is a problem to do with my email client.

I would be grateful if anyone could advice me on solutions to use to fix my email client.

Thanks

Hi, this could be due to various reasons and could include both your isp and the email client or even your anti virus, norton especially.

First, try disabling your antivirus and see how it goes.

Then, try configuring the same email account in outlook express and see if it gives the same error. If it does, then its not the email client, ie outlook as this happens in other clients also. So it could be your isp or yahoo.

If it does not repeat, then it is the email client. Try creating a new profile. Have you clicked the remember password check box when u get the dialog to enter password? Go to tools-account-change existing accounts and make sure you have checked the remember password box.

I have been having the same problem for the last 2 days as well. if you run this question through Google, you will see MANY people are having the same challenge, so ti must be something going on @ Yahoo. I am a Premium User and use the Plus settings. I have rechecked my settings, re-entered the password, all to no avail. I tried the default settings of 110/25 and while it logged into the POP3 server just fine, I was unable to successfully Send email when using the Test Account Settings function. (Normal, my firewall is blocking outbound 25) After 2-3 minutes of waiting for it to process, I stopped it and clicked the SSL button, which changed it to 995/465. This time it failed in under 30 seconds. I then changed the SMTP port to 587 and it worked. For now. I will keep you posted.

I think there is an option to 'remember' the password. I know that there is an option like so in Mozilla Thunderbird. If Outlook can remember the password then it should enter it automatically so the prompt shouldnt appear.

I hope this helps
