Local consumer protection Department would be interested. Or try the Citizens Advice Bureau. In the meantime don't walk past any magnets!!!

my mum found a blade from a small stanley knife in her corn flakes a few years ago. she didn't notice it was there till she had bit it and cut her gums. the supermarket representatives came out to the house (it was a shops own brand) took the box of cornflakes and the blade.
all that happened was that they offered to pay for any dental treatment needed as a direct result of the blade (which there was none) and they gave her a refund. the supermarket said that they needed the blade to send off to a lab to see if they could identify at what stage of the process of making them that it could have entered the box.
and as my mum no longer had the blade there was not a lot else she could do.
she was more upset because of the possibility that it could have been one of us who had bit it especially my sister as she was only about 11 at the time.
the supermarket later sent a letter to say that the type of blade that was in the box is not used in any stage of the preparation or packaging etc... therefore they did not believe it was their responsibility and it must have gotten into the box after it had been opened.

Stop trying to sue a store for something beyond their control. they said sorry and replaced it. When you sue you make prices higher for everyone else. It may not make a difference to you but some people can barely afford thier needs now, not to mention when you get your lump of greed money and the prices go up you may be starving someone just to make a few bucks. do you think they take that money out of their profits? shame on you.

You should have seen the look on the managers face when she saw it. Sh*t herself she did. I should have milked it more, I got some free food and tickets.

You can try contacting the health board, however unless it has happened numerous times they probably won't even look in tothe matter. Best to try them anyhow, though.
You'll have to call your local phonebook directory and find out what the number for the health board near you is.
