A. Playing too many hands

B. Chasing cards that still won't give them the nuts(like chasing a straight when there's 3 suited cards on board)

C. Playing higher stakes then they're ready for, or can afford

D. Going allin when you catch your hand

E. Overvaluing top pair

F. Overvaluing a pocket pair(Watched a guy raise/reraise constantly earlier in Fixed game with KK... He paid no regard to the Ace that came on flop, or the other Ace that came on the river.. oops!)

G. Slowplaying a set(nothing like losing those to runner runner flush/straight, or a higher set!)

F. Not betting for value when they hold the best hand, but instead betting to get everyone to fold...

Playing with money they can't afford.

Many players make the mistaken assumption that luck will "turn" at any moment. For example, that a run of bad cards will reverse itself at any hand. Random odds may say this is true, but the same randomness can result in bad cards all night long.

The other mistake newbies make is to bluff at the wrong time and position on the deal.

I LOVE when they do that!

But then, I'm so NEW at the game. I really don't know anything about it. Who wants to show me how?

The biggest mistake that beginning Texas Hold'em players make is playing too many hands before the flop. A lot of hands should be folded without a bet; see which ones that pros think should be played and which should not here:

The biggest mistake is to see too many flops with hands that don't deserve to be played. Also, a lot of beginners fail to raise to protect their hands often enough.

There are many, but, probably, the most common one is calling hands they have no business being in. Tough habit to cure yourself of.
