On a bottle of vodka I just got, there's the date 11/5/06. Does that mean the vodka is going to go bad by then?

That was its manufacture date (11 May 06).

It will not go bad. The worst that can happen is if you leave the cap off for a long time, the alcohol will evaporate away and bugs can get in.

The expiration date on alcohol relies upon on how organic the alcohol in it is. The extra it is distilled (desire i say that accurate) the purer the alcohol is. Vodka might want to be kept always at the same time as the bottle is closed solid after beginning and also you shop it chilly and darkish (i advise the refrigerator). In vodka there aren't any lines of fruit or what so ever to flow undesirable. it truly is why you do not get very badly hungover the subsequent day both.

If Sugar was used in the process, yes the bottle can go bad, Rum, Kahlua, Bailey, Schnapps. Tequila and Gin for some reason goes bad too... once it is opened, but no, Vodka, Whiskey, opened or unopened are good for life ( in moderation of course). Grain/Starch based alcohol only gets better with age.

Vodka doesnt go bad. The date on the bottle is the born on date.

That is the date that bottle was filled by the manufacturer. You know like Bud its got a born on date also.

Vodka doesnt go bad.

I think that's a "suggested date". I never knew of vodka going bad with time, but i know it loses it's vodka-potency if it's opened and left for a while.
It's always best to drink it up as soon as possible!

Well, I'm hoping it doesn't... I hid a bottle of vodka underneath my neighbors tree almost a year ago, (nearly 11 months) and I've only just now found it... Here's hoping I don't die!
