This was a country founded upon God and His Word. There are many who do not like that because it means there is accountability to ones self, to others and to our nation. Over the years we as Christians have been lazy in our social responsibility. We have not voted, not gotten involved with our government, and not helped maintain what is "right" in what our founding fathers established.
God calls us as Christians to be good stewards over what he has given us. Voting is part of that stewardship. To not vote in not being a good steward.
Luke 19:13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.
This is just one example of Christ calling us to proper stewardship. We are to be good stewards in all that is given to us. Money, family, job duties, community, ect.
So what are you if you do not do as the Lord has stated? What will you say when you stand before Him one day and give your account?

Yes, it is very important for a christian and any religious person to vote. Otherwise the people who we don't want to win, will win. That is why the media is trying so hard to try to get the christians and the republican's to not vote this year.
All they are doing is trying to make the republican's and conservatives look bad. Please, don't go by the media, If this has anything to do with your deciding not do vote then they have done their job. That is all the media want's you to do. But I think its time to go against the media and vote anyways. Even if its by a mail in ballet. Please take the time to vote!
But I beg of you to vote anyway's. Because It's our right to vote no matter what the media want's!

Yes, I believe it is important for Christians to vote as I believe everyone should vote. I believe we need to support the candidates that we feel have the most moral standings. It's true that we can never be 100% sure but as with anything else we do we need to pray for direction from God and do what we believe to be best. That does include learning about the different candidates and what they stand for.

What part of Christianity indicates that you should not vote? Being a Christian does not mean you abdicate all other choices and responsibilities in your life. You live in this world. You have an obligation to participate in this world. I truly believe that God expects you to vote. Not only vote, but be informed and vote for people who are also Christian and live those doctrines.

It is important, and I don't always vote Republican, like most people assume Christians vote. I truly decide based on the person's character and what they SAY they intend to do if elected. For example, I'll vote for Debbie Stabenow (a Democrat) because of her track record and Jennifer Granholm simply because I think Dick DeVos has led a poor campaign. It really seems to me that he has done his best to put Jennifer Granholm in a bad light, and I don't respond well to those who try to make others look bad. Those two are Democrats, but I voted for Bush and I'd do it again.

It's important for everyone to vote. We live in a free country, and if you don't vote, you have no right to complain.
I am a Christian, but the answer would be the same. Everyone, Christian or non-Christian, should vote.

Please don't take this in a mean way. I'm sure you mean well.
You need to be very careful about people who use religious answers to justify a given political leaning. That's a deception and an excuse. Many well meaning people have fallen for this.
I would even go as far as to say that if a church or religious organization supported something THAT I TOTALLY SUPPORT MYSELF, I still have a problem with that, simply because religion and politics don't belong together.
We should never forget what happened in Europe when church and state were joined. The inquisition happened - a black eye on the faith THAT WILL NEVER REALLY GO AWAY.

how else would such predjudiced beliefs be carried out legally in the justice system today, as long as enough like minded people (a.k.a. fools who don't read below the headlines of political issues) voted for it. To sum it if theres something you care about and want to change in the world this is the least violent way to go about change, not the fastest or kindest mind but in the right settings powerful.

I think it is important to vote; I see it as part of being salt. All that is necessary for the world to be entirely lost is for good people to do nothing. Go vote!
