Do they want to eliminate gays? Do they want gays to hide away in secret in the closet? Do they want to criminalise homosexuality?

Homosexuality is a normal human variation, sexual orientation is influenced by genes and hormonal environment in the mothers womb plus a myriad other influences none of which any of us can choose.
Sexual orientation is not a choice and it is not a sin...it is possible for anyone to choose celibacy but we'd all need a very good reason, and for gays it is possible to choose to live a life of lies & pretence in the closet, maybe even take a partner of the opposite sex this is damaging to any gay person and all those around him/her.
Accepting oneself and others is the only positive solution.

No to all your questions. What they want is to be able to live in a world that does not have such blatant, open sexuality of any kind. Sexuality is not a a thing one needs to know about a person to like or dislike them. Gay people should keep it to themselves just as heterosexuals should not share theirs. There is no ranker in expecting that sexual preference should not be shared.

I am a Christian and I am not "anti-gay."

Everyone has free will. You either accept the Bible as God's Word or you don't. You either accept Jesus as the Messiah or you don't. It's all about free will.

I do not want to eliminate people that choose the homosexual lifestyle. I don't want anyone hiding in the closet nor do I want to criminalize people that choose that lifestyle.

Would I like to rid the world of sin? You bet'cha but that would take away free will so that's not an option.

Seems to me you want to stir people up in this forum and that won't accomplish anything either.

I do not ask my "gay" friends to go or stay away, how can I show them the love of Christ if I do that? I can't.

However, if you are trying to ask why doesn't everyone just accept gay marriage, it won't happen.

Marriage is one man and one woman. You can't go back and re-write history and change what marriage "is."

A group of students that I was with had to go over this topic. From our research homosexuality is a choice... most of the scientific research was not consistant nor was it accurate. As a Christian, I don't hate gays, I don't think they are criminals, heck my uncle was gay until he got AIDS and said that it was a choice that he made and the worst one yet..He became a Christian and turned from that lifestyle... The worst thnig and least christian thing a person can do is judge you... the best thing we can do is to love you into a relationship with Christ... so they can find out for themselves who they really are.. because when you become a Christian you find out truely who you are... and who you want to be... Homosexuality is wrong (Romans).. (Leviticus) so are all the sins of the Bible.. nobody is perfect.. but as a christian we have to strive our hardest to rid ourselves from the sin that attacks us the most! My achievement for homosexuals is that this world can judge you so harsh... but really their are Christians who are willing to open their arms up to you.. to help you to over come! Sin will not bring happiness no matter who excepts it!

And to all of the people with burdens and pains
Keeping you back from your life
You believe that there's nothing and there is no one
Who can make it right

There is hope for the helpless
Rest for the weary
Love for the broken heart
There is grace and forgiveness
Mercy and healing
He'll meet you wherever you are
Cry out to Jesus, Cry out to Jesus

For the marriage that's struggling just to hang on
They lost all of their faith in love
They've done all they can to make it right again
Still it's not enough

For the ones who can't break the addictions and chains
You try to give up but you come back again
Just remember that you're not alone in your shame
And your suffering

When your lonely
And it feels like the whole world is falling on you
You just reach out, you just cry out to Jesus
Cry to Jesus
Third Day

Are you serious?

To be a Christian means that you have given your life to Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. Everyday we try to be more Christlike. This sanctification process will be complete at the Day of Judgement, when Jesus will be revealed and our salvation made complete [Rev 20, 21].
That said, God's Word, i.e. the Bible, is true and inerrant. Many passages in the Bible condemn homosexuality. Consider Lev. 18:22 "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination." The penalty of sin is death. God hates sin. Unrepentant sin will condemn a person to hell for eternity!
How then can a Christian condone homosexuality....or for that matter adultery, drunkedness, murder, etc.? These are clearly sins. A Christian speaks the truth of God. Personally, I would love to have sin eradicated from the world today, including homosexuality -- and it will one day at Christ's return. But that is God's place, not mine...I am to reflect the love of God to all...I am to spread the good news of the Gospel...and I will.
In the sight of God, homosexuality has always been a sin...an abomination, regardless of whether mankind criminalizes it...regardless of whether your predisposed to it...regardless of your environment. Repentence is sometimes harder for some than others...but all things are possible with Christ. I do not want gays to hide in the closet...I want them to repent, and put Christ first in their lives.

Honestly, God is concerned about ALL types of sexual sins, not just those of a homosexual nature! He's also against premarital sex, pedophiles, rape, incest, adultery, etc....so please don't feel He singles out homosexuals above any OTHER type of sexual sin, or any other sin period, for that matter! He does not discriminate. He says it's all wrong, but the good news is He still loves you and offers you redemption through Jesus! He certainly doesn't want to eliminate anyone, but rather He wants to help each of us with whichever types of sins we struggle with, and we ALL struggle, dear friend. It's just that when we come to Him, He gives us a new nature and we find our old sin desires change dramatically!

God bless.

Because they THINK homosexuality is condemned in the Bible and because they think anything that makes them feel icky, anything they can't understand, should be shunned and hidden away and punished.

Most people, even priests and pastors, misinterpret the passages about homosexuality.

The story of Sodom and Gommorah? That's a warning against rape and inhospitality. The reason for Sodom's destruction is made clear in Ezekiel 16:48-50. According to Ezekiel, the sins of Sodom were pride, laziness, being inhospitable, neglecting the needs of the poor, greed, and idolatry (the worshipping of idols). Nothing about homosexuality is mentioned.

Leviticus? Those passages were part of the Holiness Code which has been done away with and is no longer binding to modern-day Christians.

1 Corinthians? Mistranslation - the word malakee in this passage is used elsewhere in the Bible to mean someone who lacks discipline or one who is morally weak, and never is it used in reference to sexuality or gender.

1 Timothy? Also a mistranslation. 1 Timothy was an admonishment against male prostitution, not committed, loving same sex relationships.

Romans? In the passage the Greek words physin and paraphysin have been translated to mean natural and unnatural respectively. Contrary to popular belief, the word paraphysin does not mean "to go against the laws of nature", but rather implies action which is uncharacteristic for that person. An example of the word paraphysin is used in Romans 11:24, where God acts in an uncharacteristic (paraphysin) way to accept the Gentiles. When the scripture is understood correctly, it implies that it would be unnatural for heterosexuals to live as homosexuals, and for homosexuals to live as heterosexuals.

What do gays & lesbians have to achieve trying to poke down our throats their sinful ways, & ideals, when The bible clearly says it is a sin for them to be like they are. I have see many gay men & not a one of them has a mascular action. they look so sissyfied. & so does the Lesbians, They think they own the world, sorry, I don't accept your question, because maybe you might even be gay, I don't know, if you are not, you are just as guilty as they are because you go alone with their lifestyle.

God's Word says homosexuality is a sin. We believe God's Word in the ultimate Truth.

Why do you gays try to force your beliefs on us?

Religious blowhards have been condemning people since the dawn of time. Consider the people who insist that Hurricane Catrina was a punishment. Or, if you like, go all the way back to ancient times when sonmeone was blamed for "bringing God's wrath."

Religion or not, insecure people will always find an excuse to condemn others. The up side to this is that they make themselves visible in this way for what they are. I can tell you by bitter experience, they don't make good friends.

At least, you know who to avoid.

This woo-is-me is getting old. I am a christian and I do not agree with gays. I do NOT judge them I merely disagree. Can you and gays accept that??? If they want to be married then form a union term outside of the word marriage....since marriage was formed for man and woman. Can you accept that I see it different than you? Or are you christianphobic?
