like if you move to a new city to be with me or quit smoking for me or not have a pet to accomodate my allergies - am i in your debt bigtime forever?

If people do things for each other in relationships - are they doing it for "themselves", for the "relationship" or for the "other person" - and does the other person fall into permenant debt for the choice the other person made?

You know in a perfect world they'd do it just because they care for you and you'd never hear about it again ..
But this isn't a perfect world, and every girlfriend of mine who has felt she had to make some kind of concession for me..
Made sure i knew about it and i now owed her..

This one is simple. No, you do not owe someone for the choices they make. They made to choice, not you. If someone chooses to not have a pet or moves for someone else, then it is still their choice. It would be considerate if you appreciated the facts. But, you don't owe them anything. Moving is a big deal. Don't do it for just anyone. Only for someone that you have a committed relationship with. And you are moving together.

It is a fact, that people do things for their loved one. It should be for them and not for yourself, but personally gaining from the action and being for someone else is not mutually exclusive. And it is a fact that you must do things to promote the relationship if the relationship is worth it. i

No, if you really care for another person you don't "keep score".
You do it out of love and thoughtfulness, not because you want something in the future. By the same token the person that was accommodated should remember what the other did and use the same thoughtfulness themselves.

if us ladies did something kind for their man, it wouldnt have to be for years later, but eventually there would come a time where the woman needed you to sacrifice something for her. you'd do it, because that's what love is: compromise.
