...and is it addictive? i.e. Will you experience depression if you stop taking it?

No one is prescribing it. This is an over-the-counter medication.

My best friend took this for a while last year. She bought it as a diet pill, but called me up all excited to reccomend it as a great anti-anxiety pill. I don't know how safe this is, and I find OTC psychotropic drugs kind of troubling, but it worked well for her. She has stopped taking it since, but not because of any horrible side effects- I think that she was just less stressed and didn't want to waste money. She did not become addicted nor experience depression as a withdrawal symptom. She also never had anything clinically wrong with her- we are talking about low-grade day to day anxiety that a responsible doctor would be hesistant to treat with medication. If you are just kinda stressed, it'll probably be fine for you. If you have a real problem with anxiety, talk to a doctor.

First of all you are not stupid. Stress is difficult to deal with. It sounds like you have everything going on in your head at the same time and it is hard to sort it out. I understand how that feels, I was very stressed out for a long time, anxiety was a constant until I felt as if I was losing my mind. Everyone is different, but I will let you know that the best thing that happened to me was when I spoke with my Dr. honestly and let her know how I was feeling. She was able to prescribe an anti anxiety pill that has made a world of difference to me. I am able to concentrate on one thing at a time, most of the time. Sleep is not always easy, but I have a relaxation CD that really helps me to relax and fall asleep. There are many on the market, I suggest that you give one a try. I also think that speaking to a Dr. is a good idea. You deserve to life a life free from constant anxiety and stress. Take a chance, I pray that you will not be disappointed. God bless you and good luck, And again, you are not stupid.

I am always saddened to see corporations try to make money by promising things that have not been substantiated by clinical trials.

Relacore contains the extract of Magnolia bark. This might transiently ease your stress, but it is unlikely that it will make a big difference, other than a placebo response for a few weeks.

There are many other more effective remedies for anxiety. If you are clinically depressed, you might want to speak with your physician, who might be able to prescribe something for you. If you do not want prescription drugs, and if it is a mild case, I suggest a combination of psychotherapy ( you can begin by reading Mind over mood) , exercise, multivitamins, and St John's wort

I cant say if it works or not. But, I was on medication for post traumatic stress when I took it, and boy did I have a side effect. I have never been on drugs, nor do I smoke or drink alcohol. but, when I took relacore, it was like what I assume taking meth or something would feel like. I was high as a kite for about 5 days, and couldnt sleep even. i felt like my heart would truly beat out of my check or back. made me super anxious, yet super tired from not sleeping. i am very afraid of drugs, be it otc or even rx drugs. I have begun to try herbs and many help, but even then they are meds and one must use caution. After my reaction to relecore, I know I would neve r reccomend it. The pharmacist said I had a major adverse reacition to it, and possibly something in it just reacted with my rx . Use caution.

It's the latest in the OTC diet pill fad. Most likely, the anti-anxiety claims are just marketing. If they weren't, they'd require a prescription.

Most all of the OTC diet pills are either full of caffeign or other type of speed like substance - not anxiety reducing stuff.

The company that makes that stuff is known for making bogus marketing claims. Don't go there if you care about your health. Talk to your doctor instead.

Obtain a plant for your office—watering it will eventually make you more active.

I don't know if it calmed me down when I was taking it, but it did get rid of that nervous desire to munch, munch, munch.

It was not at all addictive for me or my daughter.

My daughter swears it works, but she is very active anyway.

FOr me, it worked, but that "stubborn belly fat" came back after I stopped using it.

I'd say it is worth a try. GO for it!
