Is there something in the Bible that allows this? If you know where in the Bible this is located...please include that in your response. TIA.

I am not just talking about the current situation...I mean all wars and conflicts.

Again...not trying to offend I'm just curious.

So to all who will report this...go right ahead...I'll just ask another one.

Have a wonderful day.

The 6th commandment translates, Thou shall not murder. There was a death penalty in the old testament for murdering people. I see a difference between murdering and killing people. Both are disturbing. Jesus equates hating someone to murdering someone.

In the Old Testament, God instructs the Kings of Israel to go to war against neighboring tribes and people to protect and establish the nation of Israel and/or Judah. King Saul's throne was taken from him because he spared the lives of a people that God instructed him to wipe out.

In the Book of Ecclesiastes, King Solomon says that there is a time to kill.

In the Book of Revelation, there will be a huge war between the nations, and God is going to kill many people who rebel against Him by war, disease, and famine.

So looking at killing and murder as a whole in the Bible, I think its wrong to assume that God, and/or Jesus is a pacifist. I believe it is wrong to commit murder, but a soldier, policeman, or executioner is just doing their job and obeying orders.

THERE IS NO BIBLICAL BACKGROUND FOR ANY OF THIS ! It is wrong to kil... I would say that police officers do not get into the job wiht this in mind. Much liek a doctor knows it may happen you strive to protect. In the circumstance that a p[olice officer takes a life he will have to make that up with his/her creator.... A solider on the other hand knows full well that he/she will be killiung or taking part in the killing of others.... i am sorry to say that there is no biblical help for this person. It astounds me how so many so called christian families applaud the fact that there son or daughter is going to fight in a war. just or not god will judge those judging others.... It goes to show how good the spin doctors in washington are that they have somehow convinced not only this but many other facts for what they are not

Well in the Bible in the Old Testament after Moses was given the 10 Commandments by God they still had wars and God Helped them win these wars because moses was leading Gods Chosen people to the promised land. They won wars with Gods helped and killed people and lost wars when they turned away from god in the 40 years they was in the Wilderness. Look it up its in the Bible in the Old testament.

Hello there,
As a young born-again Christian I had struggled with that. But to read all through the Bible.. rest asured.. I found my answers. God sent the Isearalites to conquer Jericho.. and other countries he sent David to kill Golith with the rock ... God sends people to do these things.. to punish the wrong for his evil work... I certainly believe in what this verse says......
Ecclesiastes 3
A Time for Everything
1 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,

3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,

4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,

5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,

6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,

7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,

8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
There is a time that God has his for everything...

To kill in a war to kill to protect for the just of all people is okay.. God definately points that out to us all through the Bible.
To kill in an act of jelousy, or anything other than to protect is wrong...
Ps. I don't Ziggy has read much of the Bible otherwise his view would be different.

Our Soldiers and Police deserve all the support!! So thank them everyday!

I don't know about the commandments, I'm not into the bible. But I don't believe that any one that kills, even for the greater good, fully recovers from it.
That's why our police and soldiers need our support, our kindness and our gratitude. AND it wouldn't hurt to pay them what their worth.

This is why I do not understand the logic of religon......what about the killing of animals, not for food, what about haveing sex w/o trying to have a baby, even a little white lie is still a sin.

technically we all kill. prefer to think of murder rather than kill. if we abide by the word kill then all of us are doomed for Even pulling any vegetable out of the ground to eat is killing it

Maybe their not religious or maybe it does not cross their mind at the time, and god will forgive if they truly are sorry.
