Well, I believe in the soul, the small of a woman's back, the hanging curve ball, high fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve, and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days.

That the universe follows perfectly mathematical laws.
That we, made of matter and energy, are completely computable.
There is no free will, though we do make choices.
There is no deity.
There is no external meaning to life, no reason we are here.
There is no proof that existence even -- exists.
That evolution has instilled in us two moral absolutes: altruism and empathy. All cultures have expressed these in the golden rule, in one phrasing or another.

All else is details, and most false at that.

I believe I am a sinner; that Jesus was born and died for my sins; that I can only be saved from my sin through His atoning grace; that He will return some day; that I will live with Him in eternity with a glorified body where there will be no sorrow, tears, or pain. I believe what the Bible says and that it is the inspired word of God. I believe none of us can ever live up to the standards of Jesus Christ, and by professing our belief in Him we are saved from eternal damnation. BTW, I am a 65-year-old woman who came to a saving knowledge of Christ when I was 50!

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of virgin birth, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from where he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

God, who is Himself Truth and speaks truth only, has inspired Holy Scripture in order thereby to reveal Himself to lost mankind through Jesus Christ as Creator and Lord, Redeemer and Judge. Holy Scripture is God's witness to Himself.

The natural world.

The wonderful, beautiful, awe-inspiring natural world. Sometimes I find it so gorgeous I'm absolutely overwhelmed.

I believe in Mathematics. I believe Mathematics is the foundation for everything else. Mathematics is far more provable than any being that people make up to feel good.
