The earth is not going to be destroyed, the Bible does not state that. The Bible says the earth will never be made to totter, that God did not create it simply for nothing, that he created it to be inhabited. Scriptures say that the earth will always be inhabited by righteous mankind even forever. Only the wicked will be destroyed and this wicked system of things of which Satan is god.

Starting at 2 Pet 3:5 Peter tells us that the fire and brimstone is reserved for ungodly men.

Just as in Noah's time the literal earth was not destroyed. so to will the days of the Son of Man will be.

Prov 2:21,22 so that it is the wicked that are destroyed.

So the answer to your question is NO.

Jesus said the meek will inherit the earth.

The Bible doesn't give an exact date, but does give some pretty strong clues. Such as: There will be a truce between Israel and her enemies, brokered by a person from the European Union (not mentioned by name, but accurately described). The truce is to last seven years, but at the end of 3/12 years, Russia will bring about a war with Israel and the Arab countries surrounding it. When this happens, Jesus returns and kicks Rusky/Arab butt. However, the world isn't destroyed, just changed into the Kingdom of God on Earth.
