The woman said It was a romantic park with benches and men selling roses. It has a great view of the city and is located near something called the spanish steps. I am an ignorant American, so pardon me if i offend anybody not knowing what the Spanish steps are.

Hi that was me who said it. I am a forgetful Canadian who cannot remember the name of the park but I am going to see if I can find it on a map. The Spanish steps are the steps of the Spanish Embassy. I will try and find you a pic of that too. It is a fun place to hang out, lots of locals there.

Will go check now.

Well it looks like there is a big park next to it called the Villa Borghese and that would make sense but hopefully someone from Rome can confirm this.

I did a picture search for the Spanish Steps and I think that Villa is the property that the Spanish steps are on:

Also look at a search of the Villa Borghese. I think that was it.

Rome is a big city but it is so beautiful and Romantic. You can walk for hours down funny little streets and find neat little churches, fountains and statues. Just like in the movie Roman Holiday or others like it.

officer_betty_lou is right. The park is Villa Borghese. It's avery big park on a hill, and from the top you can get a wonderful view of Rome. Another park where you can get a great view is on the Giannicolo hill, called Il Pincio, near the Vatican.

Villa Borghese.
You can get there by going up the Spanish steps (they will be easy to find, since they are such a monument, anyone in Rome should be able to give you directions,) and it overlooks the Piazza del Popolo, which is cool, because its a huge public space, but anyway, don't go at night, it can be kinda creepy.

villa Borgese. From piazza del Popolo take the steps that run up the hill next to a wall, you cannot miss it.
