i have heard that from many people as they say it has an extremely similar apperance to the hindu shivling and above all pagan worship was rampant in middle east before islam was spread , I would actually like to know the truth as well behind it. I guess both these points are strong enough to intiate a discussion.after all lets not forget when mecca was invaded every place of pagan worship was desecrated..........

No...the Kabaa was built by prophet Ibrahim and his son prophet Ismail as God ordered prophet Ibrahim to do so..as prophet Ismail and his mother lived there with some people and they made a nation from this nation prophet Mohamed was born and prophet Mohamed asked and pray to God to pray in which their face in the direction of the Kabaa and God answered his ask and his pray and Muslims make hajj there also...that's the story of the Kabaa in small words.
