I don't really get the context about this question. Let me ponder on what comes to my mind. Paataal is a lower most world in the fourteen worlds as per puraanas in hindu mythology.
Atal, vital, sutal, rasaa tal, talaa tal, andha tal, paataal are the seven worlds below the earth. (Who knows? they may be in a different galaxy altogether !?)

In Hinduism, the nagas ("snake") are an ancient race of snake-humans that brought fertility to their venerators; they were especially popular in southern India. They are Varuna's servants. Nagas live in a type of palace called PATALA, many of which are in Bhogavati, an underground city. They are children of Kasyapa.
