With all the games what you could do is offer prizes for the person who wins. A good prize is a bag of personalized m n' ms with your husbands and your name on them with the date. Think of other cute little prizes.
As far as games:
1. Limbo: Its fun and a great way to get everyone out on the dance floor. Especially if you are doing the first dance, daddy daughter/ mother son dance, things of that nature. Your new hubby and you hold the stick or if two people from your wedding party don't want to do it you can have them hold the stick. So you and your hubby can play as well.
2. If you are having table decorations that you have bought and paid (works great with flower center pieces) play hot potato. Have the dj play a song while everyone is passing it around. Have him or her slow the song down and tell the people to change the direction they are passing it. (Clock wise to counter clock wise) Then after two direction changes have them stop the song and whoever is holding the center piece gets to take it home.
3. Get a baby picture of everyone that is in the bridal party. Depending on how many tables you have make a copy of each bridal party member's (including your husbands and your's) baby picture and put it on the table. Then as a table have people try and figure out which picture belongs to what bridal party member. Then whatever table wins will win a small prize.
Try and figure out things that are easy to coordinate and fun for all ages! Good Luck and Congratulations!

Never heard of games at a wedding reception either. However, in general, if you have good music, food, and drinks everyone tends to have fun! Also be sure to have the chicken dance and the hokey pokey, always a big winner with a crowd! I know that during the time people wait for the wedding party to show up before the dinner some people are bored. Maybe have some decks of cards available...I know a couple of my guests brought them for that time period. Or maybe have something where they can write down some advice for your new life together. Good luck, and most of all....ENJOY your wedding day.

Make up a bunch of trivia questions about the wedded couple (date they met, how they met, how long they were engaged, favorite song, etc.) and ask the questions at the reception. They can be placed on a large board ("Jeopardy style"). Whoever answers the most questions correctly wins a prize (which is actually for the couple) and gets to present it to the couple. Something similar can be done "Wheel of Fortune style" using a flip chart, with words, phrases, songs pertaining to the couple. If you can't come up with enough questions and answers on your own, consult the bride and grooms parents, siblings, etc. It's great fun and everyone enjoys these games!

I havent ever heard of (or planned) any wedding receptions that involved games. I would guess that you could use any games that get used at Couples Wedding Showers, they should be appropriate for groups. (Think "Newly-Wed Game", "Wedding Bingo", "Wedding Taboo", "Guys & Dolls" (similar to battle of the sexes), "Wedding Charades", Etc.)
For the kiss you could have a "secret word" that anytime someone says it you kiss. (Make sure the guests know it somehow, but not any of the "speakers" - such as the DJ, the Father of the Bride, the Best Man... Im sure you get the point)
Good Luck

I have attended two weddings that had games at the reception. At both of them, no one played the games. People wanted to eat, talk, dance, socialize, etc. Especially for a wedding with more than 50 people, it doesn't work.

Hey! That's a neat idea!
How about The Newlywed Game? You know, the one with married couples that try to guess each other's answers.
Let the single people play co-ed Twister. Great way to meet and greet for the single folk at the wedding.

Guests don't enjoy playing games at receptions. If you have good food and music, that's all they want.
