It is certain, however, that both were played in prehistoric times. The fact that dice have been used throughout the Orient from time immemorial, as has been proved by excavations from ancient tombs and from the Harappan civilization[1], seems to point clearly to an Asiatic origin. modern dice were invented by the romans I think. i belive they got it from the greeks who had colored dice instead of numbers.
