I saw you write this in another answer, and I didn't respond in my answer about the sunset. But since you asked in your own question I will respond to you.

God didn't cause Hurricane Katrina. Sin did. When Adam and Eve fell, through sin came death. The world is a fallen imperfect world. It has hurricanes and earthquakes and tornados. People die, young and old. There is crime and wars.

The bible says that God can turn all things to his glory for those that love him. Alot of people prayed and united through Hurricane Katrina. I live close to all of this, here in East Tx. I saw an outcry of help and jobs, and love given to strangers. Isn't that what God is all about?

It is up to Christians to continue to uphold the prayers and values that keep showing the love of Christ, while things like Katrina happen. And just maybe somewhere along the way, God will be Glorified.

I can understand how hard it must be to deal with a situation like this, and I know I would be angry if it happened to me, too.
But the Bible says that God must allow some bad things to happen to us; we might forget about Him, we might think we can get along well without Him. So, because God must allow these bad things to happen, He can still make good come out of them. After this disaster, many, MANY people realized they needed God. Personally, I know that God sends His children "wake-up calls" every once in a while to remind us of His power and His love. It has been almost 2 years since my grandfather passed away. It was all very sudden, and I couldn't understand why it happened. I prayed that God would give me an answer, and He has. Before he died, I was very confused about God, and wasn't even sure He existed. But when he died, I realized there was only one place to turn to for comfort. Jesus.
There are many instances in the Bible when it shows how Jesus comforted those in grief. (John 11).
So, God used a bad situation in my life for good. It brought me closer to Him. If he hadn't died, I know I never would have found God.
In conclusion, I believe that God allowed Satan to cause hurricane Katrina to bring the people it affected closer to Him.

He didn't cause it directly. Hurricanes are part of a natural system that is neither good or bad in itself.

I'm not sure exactly what the Garden of Eden represents in the Bible. It might always be a mystery. Evidently, we were already given a prefect world once in the past and we couldn't handle it.

By the way, please forgive that one answer that says it was a punishment. There's always self-righteous people who want to blame and condemn somebody. Not all believers are like this.

He did not cause a hurricane. The hurricanes are a natural part of our weather system.

Neither God or Satan created Hurricane Katrina, it was made by Doctor Evil with his secret weather machine at his secret base on the Moon. Austin Powers was vacationing with his newest fembot in the South Pacific and couldn't get back in time to stop him.

To show us who the biggest four-flushers in the Government are.
And to teach us to quit being afraid of everything, to act on our own behalf, TCB without political and media creeps.

Every good and perfect gift comes from God the Father.

John 10:10 The thief's purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give life in all its fullness.

The devil did it.
