I am starting a group for interfaith discussions about world events and I need something to represent Muslims on a banner. The cresent is out because it largely a non-Arab Muslim thing.

i think that u should`nt use a symbol, and just write the word ALLAH it will be very very respectfull

I don't think you should use a symbol of any sort. Symbols are easy to mock, corrupt, and manipulate. Maybe a logo with the group name in it but no offstanding symbol.

No matter what you use you will offend someone!
A white dove has been recognized as the symbol of peace for a long time but was adopted by the Christian religion.
