The arguement as I see it from the religious right is that the gay lifestyle isn't in line with Biblical principle, so to allow gays to marry is to show an acceptance of gays.

But aren't people like jews, muslims, atheists and agnostics also living a lifestyle that is not consistent with the Bible?

When will Chrsitians admit its not about God or the Bible but their own homophobia?

When will Christians admit that? Never.

And I've asked your question before, Jim (the one concerning Jews, Muslims, atheists, agnostics, etc). I never get a clear answer. It's like... they can't reconcile the inconsistency of their specific discrimination against homosexuals as opposed to their silent acceptance of all OTHER "non-Biblical lifestyles and unions".

You must have something against Christians, which I say based on the argumentative nature of your question. Just because someone believes a certain way, say, that there is a purpose to life which includes procreation, which cannot be done by a couple of the same sex, does not mean they are homophobic or not accepting of others views or lifestyles. I also don't think making gay marriage legal would change the way Christians feel about that lifestyle. You don't have to live a lifestyle of a "Christian" to be accepted, or respected, by Christian, or at least you shouldn't. If they are true Christians they will be accepting of everyone, regardless of race, gender or sexual orientation.

I myself being a Christian beleive the mainstream churches are always on a "witch hunt" trying to find the next big thing to make themselves feel like they're doing the "work of God". If they'd stop for a second and realize the even Jesus did not do this during a time when homosexuality and rape and murder when commonplace. I agree with what God says about homosexuality and I'm against it and I don't agree with the Save Everyone!!! banner the mainstream churches teach. Christ came preaching about the coming Kingdom of God which as stated by the bible will be established here on Earth!! Look it up!
Without sin there would be no reason for a Saviour. Yea it would be nice but without Divine intervention do you really think there would be complete world peace?

perhaps they should accept that not everyone has to agree or they are homophobia. You want christians to be tolerant and you won't be tolerant if they disagree? So what is tolerance? It is no different than disagreeing with atheist, agnostic, muslim, or jew. Being gay is no worse or better a sin than any other in the bible. What the big hopla over this one? Because people like yourself make it one

No because it is not an abomination to God. Marriage is of God. Just because a non-believer does the right thing doesn't make it wrong. Fornication is a sin.
I don't hate people of other religions or those that choose to have sex with a person of the same sex. I am simply pointing out that God decided what is right and since He created us all(including you) there is a knowledge of right and wrong in us.
God made it that man needed woman to complete Him. That is because a woman has qualities that a man does not and vice versa. Having a relationship with one that has the same qualities as you does not complete you it just gives you the same double.
Whenever we do things that we were not created to do problems occur sooner or later.

I believe that what ever happens in life is meant to happen in God's eyes. God, knows what is happening, and what is going to happen in our lives. And I also believe that it is God's decision to make if it is wrong for gay marriages, or what is wrong with any of the other stupid things that happens & goes on in our lives. We are allowed to state our opinons, but it is God, who is suppose to judge, not us. No one is perfect, we all make mistakes. Sometimes our mistakes are the same as others. So I don't see why people should judge other people when they are doing the same thing as every one else. That is showing us that their are more hypocrits out there then there are honest and loving people. I don't think that it truly matters what the religion might be, we are all God's children! I think that we should be wanting to clean up our own back yards in stead of discrimonating & judging others!
God Bless!

It is simple. You are talking about 2 completely different things. Men do not marry men and women do not marry women. They are made a certain way to fit together.Man and a Woman. Not only is it an abomination in the bible. it is common sense.

Everything is about God!!!!!!
No non-Christians getting married is not against God or the Bible. It is Gods will that people be married before they have sex regardless of their belief, or non-belief in Him.

That is not what it's about, the Bible says, in Leviticus 18:22, that "You shall not lie with a man as with a woman, It is an abomination," it is not homophobia (the fear of homosexuals) because we are not afraid of homosexuals we just don't approve of thier lifestyle, because God does not approve of thier lifestyle.

Be ye not unequally yoked... no we shouldnt, but if we do marry non believers, it says that they may be saved if we show them how God loves. The largest problem with homosexuals is their promiscuity, something that God foresaw when He told us to not lie with the same sex. There is an inequality in a relationship that was meant to be between a man and a woman.
