Just to be curious - how many people have you first met online who have gone on to become friends in real life? I've heard a ton of horror stories, but very few good ones.

i used to do the whole internet meeting thing in my past.. and from it i met alot of strange people (sorry to judge them like that but they did have some issues) but overall i did make some really good friends.. but out of all them friends i only speak to two now after all these years.. so i guess it was worth it, going through the whole ordeal with ALL the strange people to get 2 nice people :)

I met 3 people in person before I met the one I am with now. We have been living together for 2 years now and we are engaged to be married next year. My only suggestion when meeting someone from online, is that your friends and/or family know what time and where you are meeting this person and that they call to check in on you. I did that EVERY time I met someone because you never know! I had to go through meeting the most horrible person online to get to the one I am with now! You take your chances but it's no different than anything else in life! Just always be careful!

I met my current b/f online it was completely haphazard but we've been dating for 7 months now and it's the best relationship I've ever been in. Sure there are horror stories but there are good ones too. Just be careful meet in public places and things like that.

I've met two people, and one of them has become a very good, close friend I'm grateful to know. The other one was more of a nightmare.

I met my lovely husband on ICQ..chat in 1997-we chatted till 1999-i came to turkey to meet him and we married 3 months later..still very happily married now...he was the one and only time I chatted to a man on internet..

four guys through dating svc...all were nice and Im married now...get picky...dont meet ppl who dont measure up..
