Religions are attacked verbally every single day. You cannot respond to all the insults and injuries verbalized by ignorant people.

I think you mean that if your religion is being attacked by others - what would you do?
My religion is attacked all the time. I guess I've just gotten used to it. I'll be the first to admit my religion is not perfect and I'm sure we could find lists of problems with every theology out there to some degree or another. What remains, however, is that a belief system works for a person and fulfils them spiritually. So it really doesn't matter what other people think at that point.

I am Wiccan so it happens on a daily basis by those who are happy with their preconceived notions of my faith without finding out what is really about. If they are willing to listen then I can try to fix this problem. If they are unwilling to listen then I will go on with my way and let them go on with theirs. If they persist in attacking my faith I will remind myself and inform them that I spent 6 years in the US military defending my freedom of religion so that I can worship how I see fit, not them. And that time also defending their freedom of speech so they can open their mouth and remove any doubt as to how foolish they are.

I would defend my God and pray for Him to touch the hearts of all of those attacking His word. Not only to see through His eyes of love, but also that He be merciful in the punishment of those attacking His word.

Depends... if they can rationally discuss it, even while attacking it, then I would try to correct any errors. If they are just attacking it outright and ignoring any attempt on my part to discuss it reasonably, I just ignore them. What do I care if someone wishes to remain ignorant and look like a complete idiot?
