I don't think it's all tv. I think toddlers with autism are more likely to sit down for long periods of time and watch tv, but I don't think the tv itself causes autism. Everything in moderation.

Everyones heard something about everything, whenver someone tells me " Well they said that you shouldnt......" I always wanna know who the hell THEY are!!!!???? There is a television channel that is called NOGGIN it is a cartoon channel for the preschool child, my 2 nephews started talking and counting and reading and spelling early due to this channel, ( and some motherly love ) they would sing a long to the ABC song, and etc...you get the idea. So for anyone who says HAVE YOU HEARD THERES BEEN A LINK BETWEEN blah blah blah then I guess If I told you that its possible for you to get shot walking outside of your front door, you would just stay home....... know what I mean?? I swear I think that "THEY" are crazy LOL

I think it's bull myself. Have autistic nephew and with the exception of one show per day (1/2 hour show that he doesn't even watch it all) he doesn't like TV.

It's the same excuse doctor's give to anything else. Cancer is caused by everything you eat, drink, smoke, phones, etc., etc. In the end, autism will be proven to NOT come from TV. TV gets a bad rap, always did, always will.

actualy there isn't a lik it is a theory based on kids that live in rainy states are more likly to get autism because they watch more TV but there is anothe commonality..they get less Vitamin D from lack of son..which I think is more likely of a casue then TV although I agree TV makes you dumber I don't think it causes autism.

Doesn't surprise me in the least. This generation has more autism than the previous. This generation has more TV/video games/computers than the previous. Makes perfect sense.

Bosh. Autism derives from physical causes. It's not wise to let your child watch TV all day but it won't lead to autism. Eyestrain and obesity, perhaps.

There might be a link if the child is also predisposed to autism but for the average child...TV cannot cause it.

There MAY be a link. The research that has been cited was pretty sloppy. It is as if they have a conclusions they want to prove and gamed the data.
