My friend (a pre-med major) said it's probably stomach bile, which sounds sort of alarming to me, but I have no idea what that means. Should I go see a doctor or is this normal?

Haha. No you're fine. If you are planning on drinking heavily, you better plan on paying your dues the next morning by throwing up bile. It is just what your liver produces as it is trying to get rid of the toxins you put into your body. You will live and trip to the doctor is not needed.
You can reduce your chances bad hangovers by at eating a decent meal loaded with carbs to absorb the alcohol. However, if you drink more than your body can handle then you will be throwing up your meal, and if you drank too much then you may just be back to square one with the painful bile.
Don't get into the habit of doing that to yourself. It destroys your esophagus and your teeth, which is not hot.

Throwing Up Bile After Drinking

That yellow stuff is bile and that is the acid that digests your food. Our bodies absorb achol faster than food and when you drink too much you can't stop puking. I have done this every New Year's so I know. I called a Doctor and the E.R. and all they told me was to start out drinking only a tsp at a time of water. Then when you can hold that down go to 2 tsp and so forth. Don't fill your stomach because that will make you puke again.
Good Luck.

People are rude, obviously anyone is going to call the vet but in the meantime is going to sit down and try and find some answers. Diarrhea in dogs is not some crazy serious thing that you need to be running out of the house screaming and speeding to the vet so those people need to calm down. Try a REALLY bland diet of rice (boiled for a very long time), boiled chicken breast, and canned pumpkin. The rice and chicken are easy to digest and the pumpkin helps with nausea and hardening stool. It does sound like it could be Giardia. You may want to ask your vet to do a special test for this. The reason why I say this is the watery stool. Research it a bit more and see if those symptoms sound similar. I hope your pup gets better, but hang in there you're a good mom.

bile is okay, it's the natural acids in your stomach. There's nothing left to throw up so your body forces the bile up. If you continue to vomit like this, you should probably see a doc. Continued vomiting of the bile can eat away at the esophageal lining. Just once, you are perfectly fine!

No it just means that there was nothing in your stomach but bile to throw up. This is normal.
