Legal migration, each country is given a quota by Dept of State of how many can emigrate a year, depending on the country's population , e.g. a country like Poland can be allowed 10,000 migrants, Uganda can be allowed 5,000 and so on
However illegal immigration is the numbers unaccounted for , so there is no telling but it's alot of people.

I don't know how many legal immigrants migrated to America but I do know how many illegal ones did last year.
Homeland Security Summary for 2005:
In 2005 the government estimates as many as 4 - 10- million illegal aliens crossed into the United States illegally.
During 2005, Boarder Patrol apprehended approximately 1.2 million illegal aliens; of those 165,00 were from Countries other than Mexico.
Of the non-Mexican aliens, approximately 650 were from special interest countries. (Terrorist countries)
