You have anxiety with panic attacks, and ONLY a doctor will prescribe this very limited amounts. But if you don't have to take it DON'T. From expierience I self diagnosed myself and became highly addicted to this drug, The withdrawl is the worst, worse than herion. It is horrible. Please read up on the "Ashton Manual" on the internet and you will never ever ever want to take this drug as long as you live. My doctor is working with me now to taper me off of it, which is the only way to end it, some never get off, I may be one of them he says. Please find an alternative that only your physcian can do for you. I did it all wrong and am paying for it still
Good luck

you will have to think this over really carefully. Xanax is a very addicting medicine. if you have bad aniety that is going on all the time, then you may want to start on a small dose 0.5 mg. there are no side effects to speak of . when taking as precribed. I take 2 during the day and 1 a night.

Although xanax is a relatively harmless drug, it can become extremely addicting. If you are having anxiety problems severe enough that you believe you require medication, seek out a good psychiatrist, and consult them before seeking out the drug on your own. If you have a problem, try and find better ways of fixing it before running to a pill. I'm sure you are strong enough to go it alone if pointed in the right direction! Good luck!

There is never a right time to take that stuff. The detox alone can kill anyone. There are plenty of other meds out there with less side effects & cost less too. Be careful & I hope your dr. is smart enough not to put u on anything like that. Always start off slow! Be safe & God Bless

Xanax is a prescription drug, and it is one because it (and ALL prescription drugs) are dangerous. That is why access to them is restricted.
Your LAST RESORT should be going to a doctor and getting these drugs. Look for some other ways of coping with your life and your problems.
If you are so ill you cannot function, and feel you must go to a doctor, get there and let him or her decide what's best for you.

General anxiety is a good use for a low dose but it's not a permanent solution. You'll need therapy also.

Whatever you do, ask yourself truthfully, then ask your doctor, preferrably a psychiatrist you are comfortable with!
