Did I mention that he is an abusive, self centered pig?

If it's the thought that counts....what the hell was he thinking?

I would be mad as H***! Even if he couldn't afford a diamond or a fancy ring, he shouldn't have gotten costume jewelry or fakes for an engagement ring. He should have taken the time to shop around for the best deals, and made sure it was real gold/silver/platinum before he bought. My father found a $3,000 anniversary band for my mom for $750, so I know nice rings are out there for cheap.
Then I would point out to him that the bike will last 10-15 years tops, while a good marriage lasts a lifetime. I would ask him which was more important to him, me or the motorcycle. If he didn't have the right answer, I might have to re-think the wedding.

Honey...If you say your fiance' is an abusive self centered pig...why are you with him and why are you intending to marry him? There are a lot of things in this world, worse than being single. Like being married to an abusive man and stuck in a relationship. Open your eyes girl! Run!
On the subject of the ring. It may be nice...you can have a reaction to the metal causing your finger to turn green.

one of the most common misconceptions out there is that if your finger turns green then the silver or gold is fake or that the ring is a cheep ring. In this situation it could be a cheep fake ring. But a lot of times it is the silver quality or it could just be how your body reacts to that metal. You have to realize that there is minerals in metal and when that mixes with skin you can have a different reation with different jewlery. I would say take it in to a jewler and see how authentic (if any) it is. If its a cheep knock off dump the loser because its clear his bike means more to him than you do. (that or marry him then devorse him and take the moter cycle in the devorse and sell it for like $100 that should teach him)

Um why exactly are you engaged to a self centred abusive pig???

Maybe you should think about that more then the cheap *** no thought ring!

Either way it doesn't sound good to me... good luck, I hope you make the right choice for yourself.

In my own opinion i would be very pissed off! ask him what his problem is, why he can spend money on his bike and not your ring? ask him if he really loves you and to prove it. then ask him to show you where he bought your ring so you can go let them know they sold your fiance' a fake ring. then the truth will all come out. trust me! my sister did it and it worked.

NOT cool.
He may not have done it purposely or understood what it really means to buy a nice ring for you for your marriage. Try talking to him calmly, hopefully he'll see and really want to make it right. If not, you might want to look someplace else for a man. He'd be (extremely) cheap AND selfish.

oh lordy...I think we all know what you need to do here. I am not a jewelry person, I would rather have his attention than a diamond...but what you state sounds like a very selfish, self centered man....

I know it may hurt your feelings, but it does not matter how much he spends, it is that he loves you and cares about you enough to buy you something like that, that says alot.
