I'm seeing my 30th birthday on the horizon. Ok, so I know I'm not old but I feel fitter, more confident, more attractive and have more energy now than when I was 19 or 20 (apart from my eyesight which this damn computer is slowly destroying!).

Long may this feeling continue. (Will it I wonder...?)

Anyone else feel the same?

Gerda, I know you speak on behalf of women but marriage isn't going to be happening anytime soon for this man... I'm pretty free and single right now. Perhaps that's part of the reason life is good, I don't know.

Having said that, it would be nice to have a nice lady see me into my thirties though...

I will be 43 on Sunday, and I am fitter than I was at 30, and almost as fit as when I was 25. I can run circles around alot of girls 20 years younger. I even started jumping horses a couple of months ago, and curling lessons this Sunday. I am also more attractive after losing the baby fat in my face, and men age even better, you become distinquished gentlemen. The only thing that has changed is that I have accumulated more things, and therefore I have more responsibility now, but that is not a bad thing. It is good being older, I am old enough to have some really good memories, but young enough to still have hopes and dreams.

I am also turning 30 shortly (in December).... However, although I still feel quite fit, I don't feel fitter than when I was 20 - 25.

With respect to your eyesight......

My eyesight is 20/400, which is really bad. I recently started doing the exercises to try to improve my vision. I created a blog where I record my progress with the exercises.

I recently saw some improvement. Other people (who have also experienced improvements) have posted comments about their experiences as well. You can check it out at: http://improvingmyeyesight.com/blog

You can also read these articles about reducing the strain from computer use:

All the best...

Man! I am creeping up to 30 (3 years away) and wish i was 6 years old again! :) No responsibilities, no broken hearts, ya know! Not to mention, I am a woman and sad that I don't have the family that I wanted by the age I am right now. Sounds like you probably have a great life, and that usually helps keep you happy as well AND with age, I guess we all become a little more confident and more comfortable in our skin- especially after living in it for as long as we have! :)

Do not use the word "old" yet. You are young and very young at that. You may use this word only after you cross say 60. Single? Fortunate. Enjoy as long as you want. Marriage is also a necessary experience. Like everything else it has its pleasures and problems. When ready jump in to it. You won't drown. We all have done it and survived. You also will.

I've heard that life gets better in your 30's!! I've been told for us lucky women sex even gets better!! I'm actually looking forward to turning 30, I'm almost there I am 28!! I think that once you hit your late 20's you are way more comfortable with your self and don't waste so much energy on worrying about how you look, therefore, more energy!!

Yes, at 30 you are at peace with yourself. You know what you want and you're confident in getting it. Career wise most women have achieved the goals they set for themselves. This is the ideal time to get married for those who are still single! At 30 you have more patience to be a good mother.

I certainly hope it does continue to get better. I am 36 now and am in better shape than when I was 26 much more confident and making better decisions. Good Luck

Yep just seen in my 40th and its the best b-day i have ever had. Throw a big party and invite loads of friends and family and let your hair down.
Better to reach the bigger numbers than to not reach them!!!

I also think as we age we no longer give a damn what others think and are more likely to please ourselves so our confidence does grow.

Have a good one!!!

It's a mind set.Of course you feel more confident, sexy, etc. The more comfortable you become with yourself ,and understand what you like, need, and want, makes it easier for you to make good choices. This spells success instead of failure, and that's great. Don't worry,Life's as good as you want to make it.So make it a good one. HAVE FUN !!

When I look back, 30 was no big deal. I knew more about myself, was confident, finished with school, done with my "stupid years" and had much to look forward to. Also knew my true friends from the fake, and appreciated my family as adults, not just Mom and Dad. Wouldn't want to go back.
