yes there is a program called xp codec download that and u will be able to play dvd in any player, like windows media player or realplayer

the best media player for any vid format including dvd is VLC player. search google for vlc player. its small compact and does what it says on the tin

DVIX is a really good one, you can convert,burn,play etc on there.
