My daughter is two years old and can say things like da da, ma ma, all done, thank you, what's that, pee pee, etc. When did your child make the jump and finally start being able to talk to you where you and any one else could understand?
We read to her, talk to her, all the things we should be doing I am just worried she is not where she should be...please help.

Don't worry. During my wife's pregnancy and for the first copule of years after our daughter was born, we LIVED by those "What to Expect" books. We'd even laugh and say, "OK, it's time for her to do X". It was as if our kid was reading those books too. She was right on track with EVERYTHING....until it came to talking.
Our daughter was two and only saying one or two words at a time. The BOOK said she would be saying full sentences by 18 months! My wife and I were both getting worried. Our daughter could understand anything but just didn't put the words together herself. What's going on we asked? We were freakin out! Are her vocal cords alright? Can she hear? I even did the "walk up behind her and clap really loud" thing. Of course, my daugher would turn around and look at me like I had lost my mind. We were getting all worked up, but all the older folks in our families just laughed and said, "she'll talk when she's good and ready".
Then one day, two weeks after her second birthday, I came home from work and my daughter greeted me at the door with, "Hi daddy, did you have fun at work today?" I almost fell off the porch. It really was a pretty weird experience for her mom and me. I mean it was as if one day she just decided to start talking like a grown up and just like everyone had said, she hasn't stopped talking since.
Don't worry, your daughter will start talking when she's ready.

My daughter is 2 1/2 and is now talking in 3 and 4 word sentences. She just recently started, say about 2 or 3 months ago. Now she doesn't stop. Ever.

All kids are different. Some kids are just the type of children that are "object" children. That means they will point to a ball and say ball. Other kids start talking in full sentances sooner. My brother didn't talk AT ALL untell he was almost three. He grew up to be a Dr.!! So don't worry about it!! Some kids know how to talk and just don't want to because they are afraid of not saying it right. Then one day they wake up with the confadince and start talking non-stop!! My son is three and he still talks in 3-4 word sentances. Don't worry! You spend the first two years teaching them to walk and talk, then you spend the next 16 years trying to get them to sit down and be quiet!

Like everyone else said, children work on their own timetable. You can always check with a speech pathologist if you have any questions. A lot of daycares work with speech therapists and may be able to provide you with an assessment for free. If I were you, I'd probably wait until closer to her 3rd birthday, and by then she will probably be talking just fine.
My daughter is almost 2, and she has been talking in sentences since 18-20 months, I guess.
Just keep reading lots of books, and talk to her like you would an adult. I have talked to my daughter almost like she was an adult, since she was little, and I think that helped..

Our son started at about 22 months. He turned two last week and has some great sentences (like "get up and cook it!!!" when he decided it was dinner time :)
Don't fret - it sounds like your daughter is doing just fine. The whole sentence thing happened in a landslide, with a couple tentantive sentences following by about a zillion within a few days.

don't worry all children develop differently. my first son started using sentences around 2 1/2, my now 4 yr old started around 20 months and my youngest who will turn 3 in DEC. only says about 5 words though there is a reason for it....he has down syndrome and his development is slower, and his brother does all the talking for him, so he feels he doesn't have to talk. I am still waiting to hear the words momma from him.
as for others understanding her, well that takes quite awhile. you are used to her language and can interpret what she is saying, others however have more difficulty because they are not around her as often as you. my 4 yr old talks so fast it will sometimes sound like blah blah blaaah blah to most people but I understand everything he says. Keep reading and talking to her she will surprise you and you may even wish someday that she didn't talk early..LOL mine talks from the minute he gets up until he goes to bed!

Yes it is. 5 of my 7 brothers took till they were at least 2 years old to form full sentences. If you are truly worried about it maybe think about seeing a speech therapist. They were a lot of help for my brother that couldn't form sentences till he was 4 and half.

My daughter just turned 3 yesterday and has been talking in full sentences (and clearly) for quite a while. I don't remember when she started though.
Did your daughter just turn 2? I'm sure she's fine.
