I really don't think they can do that. Did it have a price ticket?

Put it this way -

Had you paid hard cold cash, and you walked away, do they have any recourse? No. Paid 1.23 instead of 12.30 - It is not something you intentionally did - like stealing or shoplifting. You did the legitimate thing by even signing for it. You are not at fault. They are.

Just like cash, the same rule applies here. They made the mistake, they have to pay for it. Asking you for additional money is unconscienable.

If I were you, I wont pay. Tell them they can have the product back. I bet you bottom dollar, they will let you keep it and they swallow the pride.

On the other hand, if your conscience bothers you Ok, then make the decision. Pay or no pay is your decision then.

If you paid the price that they advertised it for they have to give it to you for that price. Purchasing something is an oral contract at least, depending on what you are buying, from whom, etc. This sounds like a legal matter. If they didnt charge you what they said they would then it sounds like it is their problem. I would return the item and get your money back in full if you dont want to deal with this issue in court.

no they can not.
Under retail Law, once you have agreed an amount between yourself and the party selling the item. the item must be sold under that price. therefore if you have paid on your credit card they have entered into a contract and cannot ask for any more money. If they then tell you that they are not going to supply the item, first quote retail law if not they speak to an advisory body. They can refuse to sell you a product if you have not paid for it, but once it's been paid for they are obliged to sell it.

You signed the CC slip authorizing a certain amount. If they try to tack on more just dispute the charge with you Credit Card company. The store will be unable to show that you authorized any additional charges and the amount will be reversed.

do you have your receipts?? They can do that if they didn't charge enough to the the card. Example: The total was 12.32, but they accidentally charged only 1.23. I know thats possible because I've done that when I worked as a cashier. So you should check into that.

Absolutely NO!!,Not in the U.K.,if you had not left the shop and they noticed their mistake, the could legally make you return it and charge the correct amount, after leaving the shop they had no legal leg to stand on,.Ask your provider you will find this info correct.

if they advetised it for £15 but accidently charged you less i think they can make you pay, but if it was advertised £15 and now they want £20 then they are in the wrong.

thats weird... you can withdraw the purchase, then they may reverse charges if they have such an option with your card company or will send you a check.
