English is the international language. Many other countries teach English as a second language. From my travel experience, when I couldn't speak their language, I would usually be able to find someone who speaks English.
German is a growing language, especially in Europe. Germans travel a lot (they have the most holidays of all the cultures), so many countries in Europe also teach German in order to be prepared for German travellers. It is fairly big for business, too.

Love?

Honestly, I would say English b/c Asians are generally taught English in school as a second language.

As quoted:
An international auxiliary language (sometimes abbreviated as IAL or auxlang) or interlanguage is a language used (or to be used in the future) for communication between people from different nations who do not share a common native language. Today, English is the language most commonly used for this purpose (see lingua franca).

The truly intent for the dominance of English on the planet is given that of the dominance of America on the planet. America has been main on the planet of technological know-how, science, bussiness and politics when you consider that the moment international conflict and English is the language spoken in America. To hold up with all matters going down in those locations, you have got to realize English, so increasingly men and women began to gain knowledge of English as the arena grew to become increasingly international. In the sixteenth to19th century French used to be extra dominant within the Western international, however that used to be earlier than the time of globalisation and it used to be handiest used (external of France and different certainly French talking locations) within the higher categories of Europe.

For business, usually English - Mandarin is not widely spoken outside of China. The language of diplomacy is generally French. And if you're truly desperate there is always Esperanto.
