This isn't a poor question. I am not poor. I am going to college and am finding that when I get my check from work, it is already spent. I rarely have money for food and was wondering how to eat. lol, I have started going to my student association meetings, they have pizza and soda there. But that is once every two weeks, the other days are a no go.

Go to an opinion survey place in a mall, they pay you to take surveys (giving you some money for food) and sometimes have products (Like pot pies) to eat.

You can also go through the food courts and they tend to give out free samples, same with supermarkets.

If you are just on a budget, why dont you get some ramen noodles, costs like 9 cents a packet and eat that, that is what alot of people do ... Easy to cook and actually quite filling.

Pot Pies are like 33 cents at the grocery store and they are a pretty good meal if you are on a budget.

Depending on how much you make, go apply for food stamps. Even though you are earning money by working doesnt neccesarily disqualify you from getting food stamps.

Hope this helps :)

First off: You cannot afford to eat food that is not good for you! Remember that for the rest of your life. Next, most people have been in the same situation as you, so be patient. Remember to see what is on special at the local store, and shop accordingly. Most stores don't sell only junk food. (When I was younger, that was my excuse. -I was lying to myself. Not anymore!) Be certain to try to eat a balanced diet daily. Pasta is not an enemy! You can eat that with steamed or roasted zucchini, as well as with sauce. You can mix up a couple pounds of ground beef and make meatloaf and meatballs with the same mixture. You could freeze individual servings of either so you don't eat the same thing for a whole week. If you get canned pasta sauce, it is cheaper, just store it in the fridge in something that is suitable, like a sealed jar or container. There is a new product called green bags, available. These keep your produce fresher, longer. The best thing of all to try to do is not buy too much stuff! I try to keep some things around that I can count on having when money is short. You can make a great pot of soup from several dried legume and vegetable mixes. You could buy one onion, chop it up and freeze it for later use. You'll be amazed at how creative you can be. I know someone who makes a batch of pancakes, and freezes them. I swear, unless they've been in there too long, you'd never tell the difference! Hey, if there's a patio or deck, try to grow some tomatos or herbs, just the ones you know you'll use. Mine come into the house in the winter, and go back out in the summer! Good luck, we're proud of you for making this big step!

well, you can go to burger king, and on the back of the receipt if you call an 800 number....you get a code, and then you get a free whopper on your next visit. Course you have to buy a coke with it, but hey, you keep eating for under two bucks! But rather than just cutting food expense, cut all expenses, like electricity, get the flourescent bulbs instead of incandescent....get DSL internet instead of cable...turn the heat down and dress in layers...unplug appliances not in use as they still drain some electricity...dont drive everywhere, say your car is acting funny and you have to get it in the shop, thus freeing up some funding for things like food...always keep rice on hand...rice fills you up and is really cheap! OK so its not healthy foods, but atleast you wont be starving, but as you save money on electricity, you will then be able to build some cash and get some foods that are healthier...Good Luck!!

Get in touch with a few different caterers and tell them that you are planning to get married in the next year. They will send you invitations for a "tasting" that will be coming up. Just make sure that you taste everything, so that you are full afterwards. Just take a friend of the opposite sex that is willing to play along. Sorry, but that's all I could come up with.

It's not possible the system aka the economy is runed by money. Nothing is free, so therefore you need money to buy food, Ect. The only way this would be possible is if they changed the system for the economy. As in making it better!

Your a college student you can apply for foodstamps, do you live on campus, you can apply for the meal plan. You can also learn to shop on a dime...meaning by products you can keep in your room with refrigeration, such as canned goods like soups, ramen noodles, kool aid, sugar..but you also have to remember that keeping food in your room can attract bugs, and rodents....so be careful.....

Doesn't your college offer you a student meal plan? You should look into that. Either that, or call your parents up and beg for money. LOL
