What did he do when he was 11 years old. Jerk off when no one was around? Then he ought to tell his son, should there be no privacy in his bedroom to take a long soaking bath in the bathroom and masturbate in the tub and not take a shower as it's to fast and when the shower stops the rest of the family will expect him to vacant the bathroom.
Why did he ask you are you a female? Did he retreat to the office bathroom after telling you? Was he in there longer than normal? Hmmmmm.
Are you a male? I suspect not because you asked, "What should he do???".
Were you a male, you would both have reminisced your very first time when you "discovered" masturbation.

As a couple they should present a united front and confront their child. Don't accuss, punish or try to be hash;be understanding,as this is a faze he's going through. Show him in the Bible where this is wrong, and find some literature that speaks of the dangers of such a continued practice. You as parents should gather all the information you can, keep a close eye on him without being overbearing, or to smothering. Try keeping his roomdoor open at all times and keep a handle on how long he's cloistered in the bathroom if you can.

It sounds inappropriate that your co-worker would even discuss this with you. Obviously this is a private matter and perhaps now would be a good time for him to have a "birds and the bees" talk with his son. In addition, if this co-worker continues to discuss things of a sexual nature with you, it could be construed as "sexual harrassment" in the workplace. And that's against the law...

Have a serious talk with his son about the fact that it is totally natural, there is nothing wrong with it and how to handle it with privacy in an appropriate place at appropriate times. This kid needs to feel comfortable with his body and the impulses that he is experiencing.

Let the boy jerk off. Its a natural thing and instead of going out and getting girls pregnant, he will be wiping his baby-making juice on an old towel when he gets done. ;)

He need to talk to his son, too many times, us men avoid the situation, and we think the problem will go away it's self, but like a snowball rolling down, hill it gathers more snow, until it becomes unmanageable

What they need to do is sit down and have a talk with their son later on tonight.
They need to talk to him about hormones, sex, and protection. It's obvious that he's starting to explore his body... and he's going to need to learn from the two of you what everything is there fore and why, so this way he knows what he's doing is normal.

Two things:
1. She should tell her husband to stop telling his coworkers
2. Buy the boy a box of kleenex.
