For certain God has determined the end from the beginning, He has predestined the end events.
It seems that in many things He has permitted people to exercise "free will" in those matters.
Also, someone has supposed the differences between "predestination" and "free will" can be pictured like this"
At the gateway to heaven, on the earth side there is a sign "Whosoever will may come" and on the other side "Chosen in Him from the foundation of the world".

If there is "predestination," why does God put us on earth in the first place. Are we really here only to determine whether we'll end up in heaven or hell? No logic whatsoever here. That's why Christianity is called a religion of faith.

God has given everyone a free will to choose what or who they will believe in. I believe that when we enter through the Gates of Heaven it says " Whoso ever will" and on the other side it says predestineed! The Bible says that God loved us enough to send His Son to die for us and all we need to do is except Him. Our will to choose and then His will to predestin us.

Free will, and they are mutually exclusive. Too many people think that because God knows what is going to happen, that He makes it happen. He lives outside of time, so He has a great over view. Like you standing on a tall building, looking down and seeing two cars about to crash. You know they are going to, but you didn't cause it.

both--God has predetermined your course of life that is according to His perfect will--
His gives us free will-- the right to choose our own course
i do believe the two can happen at the same time as you do some things he has predestined and others that you choose.....

No one has a free will, not even God. The Bible tells us there are many things that God can not do. He cannot lie, He cannot deny Himself, etc. So why would you think humans who are much more limited than God would have a free will. Our wills are limited by our nature, and since man's nature is sinful man is prone to sin. According to the Bible no one can come to God unless God draws him, so God must first choose him and then draw him to salvation. That is what the Bible calls election. John 6:44 "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day."

The two have to happen at the same time, God's foreknowledge has nothing to do with free will. All we have to do with our salvation is accepting the free gift of God. A gift is not a gift unless it is given freely and unless accepted a gift is not received.

Nope, not really. Unless God is pushing an agenda then He may guide some of man's actions. Otherwise, our freewill reigns supreme.

Yes, but it gets really confusing since you don't know if you made a choice yourself or just think you did. It's god's way of keeping us on our toes. Or maybe it's his way of keeping us confused. I wonder if I'm the one that decided to write that or not.
