Maybe there is a secret rubber formula inside a Goodyear or Michelin vault somewhere but, no there isn't a tire out there that will last the lifetime of your car assuming that your car last 10 -15 years. I have a forklift at my place of employment and it has solid rubber tires on it. Solid rubber, no air in them whatsoever. And they still need to be replaced every 3 years or so. Tire rubber compounds are constantly being improved. That is why tires are so expensive because, most of the money that is spent at Goodyear, Firestone, Dunlop or any other large tire manufacturer is in advertising and research and developement. Maybe one day tires will last a lot longer and there are some tires that they say can go 60,000mile before they have to be replaced. But, no there isn't a tire out there that claims much more than 60,000 miles. I hope this helps. Take care and good luck.

There are products that are designed to wear out to increase consumer demand. Tires are one of these products. We have the knowledge to create a much longer wearing tire, but this would threaten company profits. Whether or not this is a good thing is debatable

BTW: The name of this is "planned obsolescence."

Peace.

Yup... bought a new BMW drove it down the road 2 miles - a lorry smashed into the rear of it - write-off - tyres still in perfect working order!
