Praying (expressing one's religious beliefs) in public is frowned upon by the bible. Let's have a look at Matthew, chapter 6
6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
Summary: Believe what you will, but keep it to yourself in the safety of your bedroom. People feel the need to preach because they only read the parts of the bible they like, and let their evangelical priests fill in the blanks.

Hmmm - interesting question. I can't speak for others, as I don't know their reasonings. However, I can tell you that Jesus told His disciples to spread the Good News of salvation. I'm sure some are just trying to reach out to those who are not Christian. I believe that some, in their zeal to share Christ, feel as if they are throwing a lifeline to a drowning person. I don't think that most are trying to push people away from Jesus. Hopefully, they will pray that the questions and answers they ask and respond to will be led by the Holy Spirit.

It's not a question of "conversion", for only ones response to God's presence in their lives will lead them to convert, not the "preaching" of someone who happens to believe. The Scripture says that "the DEVILS BELIEVE and tremble" yet they don't "convert". Also, the Scripture says, "Behold I stand at the door and knock. Anyone who opens unto me, I will enter in and sup with him and he with ME." Meaning that God only "converts" those who want to be converted. The "preaching" you refer to in your question is a commission given to us of God in order to spread the Word about the love of Christ, the warnings about sin, death and Hell, and the glories of Heaven.

Because they know it will make you ask another dumb question like this one. It doesn't really matter if they "preach", this is the religion section.
Oh, you knew that, didn't you? Just trying to anger someone into a stupid answer, aren't you?

It is an outlet, 'venting' for their frustrations.
It's having a pulpit without the possibility of others confronting them in any serious way.
The anonymity (most not even showing their faces! Reminds me of the Muslim's veil) also encourages them. Even the coward gets to say his piece.

Why not? It is religion and spirituality? If they were preaching on the photography section I could undersand your question. You don't have to read it.

I have said many times, all the preaching Christians do is not to convert others, but to convince themselves of their own religion--------which is very illogical. G-d is One.

They are "witnessing". Never mind that none of the people doing this are actually witnesses of any of the things they are preaching.

Part of the package when one join a religious group is the 'responsibility' to bring Jesus to you.
They sincerely believe to be saving you from hell. Funny, isnt it?

Excuse me.... but you are in the Religion and Spirituality forum here. And I believe in the word of God, which I share with others here that pertain to their questions. But as for you and how you feel about Christians, there is a scripture just for you...
Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Praying for you. Sharing God's word with others, is caring about them. Just in case you did not know that.
