He could have mange. I would take him to a Vet and get him looked after. And don't let him bite himself that will only make things worse. That's all I can think of is mange.

Hope you find out what's wrong with your dog and that he gets well soon ^_^

I`m no expert, but beware. This might be symptoms of Sarnna. To prevent this, keep bathing your dog weekly to keep its skin clean. If the problem still lingers, take your dog to the veterinary right away. It might be hot spots too or scaby or parasites. I`m afraid it will need treatment.

Could be a number of things. You should take the dog to a vet in case it is contagious to humans or in case it is mange.

He has hot spots....try changing his food...my dog had hot spots and after we changed the food he cleared up a lot. Also, get a spray for hot spots. If it doesn't clear up, go to the vet

this sounds like food allergies

avoid CORN, WHEAT, SOY, BEEF, PORK, MEAT MEAL (mystery meat)
these fillers often give dogs "hot spots" which you have described....

go to pet supply store and pick out a better food - also avoid "by-products (beaks feet feathers)

bathe in soothing oatmeal dog shampoo
you can get products to stop him from biting - bitter apple spray is one but I suggest you find the cause also

typically LAMB AND RICE food is considered hypo allergenic.. but grocery store level foods are crap

This could be mange or scabies or a simple staph infection. I would recommend contacting a vet. If it is a staph they will need antibiotics, but all of these require treatment.

I would take him to the vet for proper diagnosis and treatment, I don't think there is any home remedy for this type of problem.
