i "groan" a bit when i stretch.. i think we all make some sort of noise because our lungs need stretched out too.. so the air coming out is the noises? i ain't no doctor so .. just take this answer with a grain of salt ... but that's my opinion on why ... thanks for the question

I noticed when I stretch I tend to hold my breath and the noise comes out when I eventually exhale at the end of the stretch. But that's just me dunno if it works that way for you too lol

It's the same reason you make noises when you are eating something really good. You say MMMMM. When you are enjoying something so much you make noises.

because you're literally stretching your tendons... if you haven't in a while they will hurt and you will moan.
