Am I able to get from the airport to Grand Central Station by train? Is this easy or would it be better for me to take a taxi. If a taxi is easier, then roughly how much would this cost? Also what is the estimated journey time by both train and taxi.

Thanks.

Take the shuttle bus, cost is ~$15. It goes from Newark to GCT.

Info at the "ground transporation" desk at Newark.

No, the train leaves Newark Airport for Penn Station New York nonstop, it costs about $11.00 oneway. It is only a few blocks from Grand Central and much easier to get to. If you want to go to Grand Central you will have to go to Penn Station Newark New Jersey and change to the Path train. Just take my advice and go to Penn Station New York.

never take a taxi>>>>100 dollars ride and drivers are criminals in newark, there is now a shuttle train that takes you straight from Newark airport straight up to new york penn station and from there you could take another subway to grand central. its the easiest way.

Grand Central Terminal- [Grand Central Station is the post office next door] Coach USA/ Olympia Trails "Buses depart and drop off at 120 E. 41st Street, between Park Avenue and Lexington Avenue. Tickets may be purchased at the last stop in New York City on the bus. Please board the bus and when the bus gets to the Port Authority Bus Terminal an operations supervisor will board the bus to allow you to buy tickets. (Drivers are not permitted to sell tickets. An operations supervisor will board the bus at the last stop in New York City so you can conveniently buy tickets.)" the only question on if it's better than the train is that trains don't get stuck in traffic.

taxis are okay within a limited area, but if you cross a state line (or even crossing NYC limits), the price goes waaaaaay up.

If you have to go to GCT, the direct shuttle bus is your best bet.

I generally take the train to Penn, and then walk to GCT, myself, but it depends on your baggage, whether you like walking as I do, or whether you feel comforable, if you don't know your way. But it's easy: you walk north (from about 34th st, depending on where you exit) to 42nd St (Times Square), and turn right (the blocks are longer this way; the avenue numbers go down. After 5th Ave, it's about 2 blocks). GCT is to the left of the overpass.
