It happens far too much...
I was watching Date Line and they had several couples who were looking to adopt a baby...One couple found a woman was willing to give her baby to a couple and so the couple gave the mother some money for living expenses and paid the legal fees to the attorney...come to find out it was a scam...the woman on the internet said her name was cristy...as so it seems she was promising her baby to about 4-5 other couples but when it came time for the baby to be born she would cut off all contact.

Dateline started a investigation on this woman and found out that she lied about everything....

Go to dateline nbc and type in A web of Deceit..thats the title...

What should happen to this woman???
What are your thoughts on this???
Does the birth mother have to many rights????

Many interesting other facts were discovered about her she was married twice after pilling allot of debt in her husbands name she just left them...

She seems t me a pathological lyer

I also saw this... it made me VERY angry... and yeah, I cried... (maybe because I am emotional from my pregnancy) but it was very depressing to watch all of those wanting-to-be-mothers get the news that they wouldn't get the baby.

I think that the woman needs to have psychological help and never be able to give up a child or allowed on the sites or anything like that... I dunno if that is possible, but I sure hope there is a way...

I think that this one case where this woman is going to mess up the system for others, and possibly make it harder, but stuff happens. I do not think that they have too many rights, however I think that there needs to be a middle man in the process to do a full backround check before the adoptive parents get too emotionally attached...

And yeah she is a pathological liar!!!

the baby belongs to the birth mother ..she should always have rights ...none the less if I was on the other end of things it would break my heart..losing a baby is the wore thing in the world I know personally I can not imagine hoe hard it would be to be so close and have it come crashing down on you all at once

Just as with any other scam.....if it sounds too good to be true, then it's not. And anytime u pay up front, don't ever expect to get it. If I found out that I was scammed like that, I would track that ho down, and beat the brakes off of her......

That's why you don't surf the net for things like puppies, kittens, babies or other LIVING things. It's not reliable.

I'm not too sure what her punishment should be. Perhaps a fraud fine. She does have rights because she is the mother.

if people are dumb enough to pay for something they dont have then they deserve to be taken in...

there are plenty of kids already born who would LOVE to be adopted but everybody wants "a baby"... sheesh
this is terrible what is the world coming to when only "babies" are valued in our society and other children and discarded as trash???

the world is grossly overpopulated we dont need more people - we need to look after the ones who are already here...

No one deserves that. I saw that dateline. I was truly saddened that there are people out there who take advantage of people like that especially with someone so precious.

So who buys a baby on the internet? They probably deserved it.
