religion religion religion....for thousands of years people believed in the egyptians and their religion, until another religion came. don't you think with this one its just the same? what is religion anyway?

Religion is whatever system of beliefs you cling to. It is a way of life for some, and an excuse for war for others.

Religion is organized spirituality. Spirituality comes from people who have had strange or just unexplained experiences. Spirituality is also about what happens after death, before birth, the nature of the worlds around us, and how each person fits into and relates with the world. Religion is an attempt to bring these mysteries to people who have never had such experiences or ideas. That's how they start out, as mysteries. The nature of mankind is to explain everything, especially young folks, so the mysteries slowly get 'answered' and then Dogma is born. The faith is no longer about contemplating Deeper Mysteries, it is now about Doing What You Are Told and Following the Crowd. Religions like this are no longer spiritualities, they have become social movements. (just like armed insurgencies)

religion is one of the three ways a person can gain control in a society. it also provides explanations and reasons why certain things happen in nature, the proper time for planting and harvesting crops, hunting, what happens after death, what ceremonies and rituals must be performed to honor the dead, what rituals and ceremonies to perform to honor and adore their GOD, what taboos are in force, what to do if a taboo is broken. there are a few functions which may fall under the heading of religion.

The Almighty God is the first and He is the real thing, not some counterfit. All those other so called Gods are dead, but the Almighty God who is our creator is alive and well. Praise the Lord!!
