I have a son and daughter that are not interested in learning anything in school and really want to drop out. Should I just let them do it, or make them finish, and if I do that, how can I get them to have a better attitude towards going to school? Any suggestions from you would be appreciated. Thanks so much!

It may depend on the real reason why they don't want to go. If they've got lousy teachers (yes, there are some good teachers, but there are some really bad ones too) who don't teach, can't keep control of the classes so that students run wild, then they're not going to learn anything anyway. If that's the case, do everything you can to get them into a different school. Same deal if they don't like school because they're being picked on by other students.

But if they're just not interested, then then a pragmatic response may work. Something along the lines of: "Most high school drop outs are destined to spend their lives poor. If you think school is boring, wait until you see the kind of boring jobs that people without a high school diploma get to spend their whole lives doing just so they can live in a junky apartment and have enough to eat."

They have just 1 or 2 more years. What are they going to do with their lives? They need to go through with the rest of their schooling. You can not support them for ever. They need the education to make it in the real world.
Make them finish.
