It sounds like you need to go to a doctor with her.

Immediately take her to a time out spot, like a bottom step, or a seat facing the wall and MAKE her sit there for a certain period of time. (usually 1 minute per year of age) Do NOT be nice about it, she will not gain anything by you pampering her onto the step, just put her there and say "You hit Mommy, that is wrong, and you are in time out'. Make her stay there, if she gets up IMMEDIATELY sit her back down and tell her you have added another minute. When the time is up wake her tell you why she was there, so she understands what she has done, and she MUST say 'I'm sorry Mommy/Daddy' before she is allowed to go. Be very consistent and do not let her get away with hitting and not get a time out.

Could be a stye or insect bite.
If it's a stye, one remedy to improve the condition is to use a pretty hot compress (not too hot or else it burns the eye lid) on the affected area, it should minimise the size of the stye and make it less uncomfortable.
The stye will reduce in size in the next day. If it too stubborn and doesn't go away, then a minor surgery by an experienced doc could be required to drain away the fluid in the stye.

Could be a stye. If the stye is visible (a little white bump amidst the redness) you can put a paste of flour and water on it to draw out the puss. Be careful not to get it IN the eye however. Or it could be pink eye. Is her eyeball red and itchy and or oozing? Best thing to do would be take her to a doctor.

It sounds like a stye, usually they're on the outside I think though. They're usually not painful, but very uncomfortable. Take her to the doctor or hospital.
My mum used to get these a lot and she also had one cyst on her upper eyelid. She went to the hospital where they cut them off. She said the procedure was painless, and she's had no problems since.
Good luck! :)

It could be pinkeye if there's any kind of discharge from the eye, or it could be an allergic reaction to something she touched and then rubbed her eye. Try to keep her from touching/rubbing it. If she does...do not touch the other eye just in case it's contagious. You can try giving her some Benedryl, which should help overnight if it is an allergic reaction. You can also try the website below which gives you a listing of eye problems and you can choose what sounds close to the symptoms listed and they will suggest what might be wrong. Otherwise, I would say...make a visit to the Dr. Eyes are something you don't want to fool around with, especially if it's a bacterial infection.

could be one of a number of things.....is it painful? if so, turn her eyelid up and look for a bump, it could be a stye which are usually very painful(they are usually caused by clogged or infected tear ducts. It could also be pink eye, does it itch? If it doesn't go away soon, you should take her to a MD!

One thing that is not already mentioned is to check your child's head to see if there may be any head lice as they can travel to any eyelid and cause it to become inflammed. If you are not sure what you are looking for and don't have insurance, usually the school nurse is very familiar and can advise you of over-the-counter treatments or tell you if she thinks it is something else and that you do need to see a Dr.

does she say it feels dry and like something is constantly scraping up there? it could be a stye....a little rock like bump on the inside of her eye lid. check to see underneath the eyelid if there is any bump.. if so you should take her to a doctor so he can give her the meds to treat that. its caused by either stress or lack of sleep. if not then i dont know what it could be. Good luck

It could be an allergic reaction. I know of a child who got bit by a mosquito by the eye and the same thing happened. Best to check with the doctor though.
