NO, cats and dogs cannot catch human colds and vice versa, the ONLY germ/bacteria that can jump the species barrier is Staphylococcus which develops in a secondary infection, you or your cat would have to have a very serious infection for this to be possible, but it has happened,, to me actually a few years ago.

Unless the cold suddenly mutates into a form that can be contracted by your cat, then no. Since this is EXTREMELY unlikely, you should be okay. My cat used to catch a cold every once in a while. They are strong animals. Don't worry about it.

No. Think of it like this: Because our systems are so different the germs that attack your body and take from you can not get the same things that it need to live from your cat. So, your cat is ok. I love my cat too and I would never want to get her sick. Feel better.

You and your cat would make medical history. Cats and people have been living together for 5000 years now and there is no evidence of us swapping viruses.

Possible yes, but not very likely. Cats get their own strain of colds. However, don't be alarmed if your kitty wants to snuggle with you more when you don't feel well. He/She just wants to comfort you and make you feel better. Just keep them away from your face so their hair and dander doesn't irritate your respiratory system more than it already is.

Get well soon!
