I have an opportunity to live in a subdivision near my brother n sister n law and nieces. I have two kids and they all play together. And there are so many kids in the neighborhood. They all go outside to play etc. Where i live now, there are not very many kids for my two kids to play with. Plus, we could help each other out, (babysitting) here and there, when needed. But I am worried, this might be too close for comfort with my sister n law and brother. We get along well, except my sister n law can be very competitive at times, (which I am not). We would be one street over. What do you think?

You know there is a possibiltys for a miserble life out there so I would say no.Plus if you pack up and move near them then whos to say that in a few months or a year from now that wont move out then you moved there for no reason not unless you plan on following them around forever.

If you all get along pretty good, and the sis-in-law's competitive ways are only in the way occasionally, I'd say OK. Family closeness is important and valuable in many ways. And cousins should get to grow up together as much as possible. The babysitting thing should not be taken advantage of too much by either party, however.

It sounds like a good idea. If your sister in law gets competitive then just keep your distance for a while. just because you live one street over doesnt mean you have to be up each others a**es all the time.

if you think they will intervien too much I wouldnt.
But on the other bhand if the children can benifit, and grow together, that is what family is about.

yes it would be a great idea, at least you would have someone willing to watch the kids over night and vise versa for those nice nights without kids,,
