Does having 2 working parents place a child at a disadvantage with regards to right and wrong? What I would like to know is if both parents are working do you think that child will grow up with lesser values of right and wrong and manners and being mindful of others or will they grow to be selfish and thoughtless with no manners and result in bad groups and habits?

It really depends on the parents and their own values that they will instill in their children. If both parents are working dayshift jobs, then they will still be there for their children of an evening after school (if it's an infant or toddler, the child will gain a lot from being in daycare if it's the right one--they learn sharing, individualism, socialism, etc). If both parents are working because the money is necessary for the things that are needed, then the child(ren) will probably grow up with an understanding that you have to work for what you want in life. Although this can be a cruel thought for some, it usually instills a sense of responsibility in a person. If both parents are working because it is something they want to do and they enjoy their work, then that also will give the child(ren) good role models in their parents. However, if the parents become over indulged in their work and don't have time for their child(ren), that is when it becomes a problem. This is when the children end up going out on the streets and/or finding trouble, because they want the attention it gives them, even bad attention is better than none.

Having two parents that work doesn't not exactly place a child at a disadvantage with regards to right and wrong. HOWEVER, if the parents do not take an active part in the child's life teaching them these values the child could choose the bad paths in life. It's a teaching thing all parents should do but our society is getting very laxed on the moral teachings and that is why our society is out of control.

It's the quality of the parenting that matters, not the quantity. Not all parents are good and moral people, and not all of them have the same values. The amount they work out of the home doesn't enter into that equation. I know people that are home with their kids all the time, and they don't have good manners. In fact, those kids would probably do better in daycare because then maybe some adult would talk to them. I had working parents, and I learned that I had to do my part to support the house by doing chores. Since I was the only one without a job, I thought it was only fair.

Nope, in my opinion, it just makes them slightly more independent. My father and mother were both working, my dad was never around and mum was very short tempered with me. So they dumped me in boarding school :) of course, i cried and wondered why am i here and don't they like me.
after they pulled me out of that school to another school (thankfully not boarding) i decided that despite not having that much time with my parents just made me ready for when they are not going to be around. and as for your question, that depends on what kind of background they have

not if both parents actually raise the child to know right from wrong,, too many parents buy fast food, and sit in front of the TV,, never talking to the kid,, kid raises themselves and gets into trouble,

if you cAn raise them on one income and do without some materialistic things i would go for that,,look at all the kids who had rich parents and no attention that blow up schools..
well not all of them will..but children have more issues then back in the day when they had mom at home,,they knew someone was there if they had to call home from school sick

My parents worked all the time and my dad worked in another country.

I taught myself my morals and I turned out just fine, but hey that's just me.
