Kabbalah is one of the oldest religions, it is founded in Jewish mysticism & the Zorah. Kabbalahist believe everything is positive or negative energy. And creation was formed by just a thought from God. They believe we must strive to be the positive energy to obtain enlightenment. The original texts were in Aramaic, a Jewish lanuage of the commoner, instead of the Hebrew language that was once reserved for the higher class of Jews. So,Kabbalah could be accesable to all.

This is just my brief understanding of Kabbalah.

It is based on jewish mystics. As well as the five books of Moses that are not in the bible which are considered to be the books containing conjurations of entities or forces of nature. Some will call them demons.
Also it has a bit of dealing with Egyptology. I think that that covers it. This is however dependent on where you go.

The real Kabbalah is Jewish mysticism, not the piss madonna promotes.

Read a Garden of Pomegranates by Israel Regardie. Heavy but thought provoking.
